IN STUDIO was founded by Martin Finio, FAIA. Since 1999, Martin has delivered award-winning projects for institutions, non-profit organizations, public agencies, universities, and private clients. Its work has spanned transformative adaptive reuse projects in historic structures and designs for museums, art and cultural centers, university buildings, and private residences.
It was honored as “one of the twelve most creative young architecture firms in New York” in the book New York Dozen by Michael Crosbie; named one of North America’s “Emerging Voices” by the Architectural League of New York; and selected as part of Architectural Record’s “Design Vanguard”.
Its projects have received numerous design awards, including a National AIA Honor Award, several AIANY Awards, two American Architecture Awards, and the 2014 Arts and Letters Award bestowed by the American Academy of Arts and Letters. The studio’s work has been published in outlets including Architectural Digest, Architectural Record, and the New York Times, and exhibited widely including at the Venice Biennale of Architecture, the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the Chicago Athenaeum, The European Center for Architecture, Art, Design, and Urban Studies, and the National Building Museum in Washington, DC.
