LEGER EXHIBITION
PHILADELPHIA MUSEUM OF ART
Exhibition design for the show Léger: Modern Art and the Metropolis at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The show and its design focus on Léger’s exploration of the relationship between fine art, the city, and commercial media in the 1920s.

The layout is organized into three main exhibition areas: Space, Spectacle, and Publicity, designed to be overlapped and layered as sensory experiences are in urban space.
The exhibition displays the artwork – from fine art , to sign painting, to cinema – at varying heights through varying apertures, allowing visitors to see through to other sections.
Model studies focused on refining the design of custom armatures to optimize the display of these various media.
The layout invites engagement with the artworks one at time and all at once.
